Animas High School
Constructed by Jaynes Corporation, the new Animas High School proudly overlooks the Durango, CO community. This unique full structural steel educational facility encompasses 42,000 square feet of space and focuses on integrating modern learning environments with amenities that foster creativity, collaboration, and hands-on learning experiences.
The CM/GC project incorporates multiple “maker spaces” and workshops. These dedicated areas are designed to empower students to explore their creativity, problem-solving skills, and technical abilities. The school also includes thoughtfully designed classrooms that offer a conducive environment for interactive learning.
The Animas High School project is not just about physical structures but also about fostering a new era of education. The school adeptly caters to the requirements of its students and their distinctive curriculum through collaboration with Fort Lewis College. The site fosters the expansion and strengthening of this interaction and relationship.
Jaynes’ resources played a critical role in this project as our BIM department contributed building systems (MEP) modeling and coordination. Jaynes Structures, Inc. provided self-performed services of concrete and millwork including building foundations and slabs, and casework/cabinetry for the new school, including window sills. By providing tools and spaces needed, the new Animas High School is able to prepare students for the challenges of the future.
